Mother of murdered Gering toddler issues statement

The mother of a Gering toddler that was murdered in 2008 has released a statement following her indictment.

Charyse Geurts' attorney's at Bell Island & Huff say:

"Charyse Geurts wants the person responsible for the death of Juliette prosecuted and punished. Charyse has attempted to help the police in investigating and prosecuting the person who killed Juliette. Not a day passes that Charyse does not think about her daughter.

She supports the County Attorney's attempt to prosecute the person responsible. Charyse has surrendered herself to the authorities in Scotts Bluff and continues to maintain her innocence in the death of Juliette."

Geurts is charged with Accessory to a Felony (a Class III felony) and Providing False Information.

Dustin Chauncey is charged with Intentional Child Abuse Causing Death (a Class IB felony), Manslaughter (Class III felony) and Providing False information.
