Panhandle organization reminds people to get flu shot

Posted: Updated:

People across the Panhandle region have seen the effects that this year's flu season has had and it's not over.

But it's still not too late to get your flu shot.   The Health Center at CAPWN held a flu shot clinic today, reminding people that it's important to get the shot to fight against the flu.

The peak of the flu season usually starts to happen now and continues through April.

Director of Nursing Danielle Rose says that today has been successful and many people were in getting the shot.

She says that getting the shot is the best thing you can do to avoid being sick this flu season.

"We've had many cases of influenza a in the area and people are definitely exposed when they're out in the community so it is important to receive that flu shot heading towards the spring time," says Rose.

Rose says that if you are a CAPWN patient you can still schedule a time to get the shot.   Otherwise clinics across the Panhandle have plenty of vaccine still available.
