CAPWN looking for donations to add to food pantry

Posted: Updated:

One Panhandle organization is looking for donations to add to their food pantry.

The Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska is asking for the public's help with food for the pantry.

CAPWN uses the money or food donated throughout the area to give back to people in the community in need.

Assistant Community Director Carmen Trevino says the need is still there, especially after the last few months.

She says they don't have as much food to give out to meet the demand.

"Right now it's extremely low again after the holidays, we got hit very hard and we have minimal food in our pantry, so if you would like to donate food that would be wonderful," says Trevino.

Trevino says anybody can do so by bringing non–perishable food down to the CAPWN office in Gering.
