A KOTA Territory zoo is playing a part in kids education's.
The Riverside Discovery Center's Lil' Explorers program is back in session after their winter break.
The program is for young kids ages 2-6 and is offered every Thursday morning from 10:00-11:30.
The program has different themes every week, activities and lesson plans to help the kids learn more about animals.
Kim Miedema, the Education Curator for the Riverside Discovery Center says its a great way to help kids get over their fear of animals as well.
"I thought it was really important to provide an opportunity for young children to come and experience the animals first hand."
Miedema says the program's other focus is helping give them skills for when they go to school.
