Chadron teen arrested for rash of thefts from motor vehicles

A Chadron teen is arrested as the result of a police investigation involving more than 30 thefts from vehicles.

18-year-old Caleb Scherbarth is charged with theft by unlawful taking, theft by receiving stolen property, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Police were able to obtain a search warrant for Scherbarth's house after receiving a tip, and found items that were reported from the motor vehicle thefts, along with a small amount of marijuana.

Bond has been set at ten percent of $50,000.
