Nebraska Senator Mike Johanns is encouraged about one piece of legislature that has been in the works for a while.
Johanns calls the cattle trade with Japan great for Nebraska. With the new agreement, Japan will be able to import beef less than thirty months of age compared to the current limit of twenty months.
He says that this agreement will pave the way for Nebraska to be able to build strong relationships with other countries.
"This is extremely good news for Nebraska and our state's cattle producers. After nearly a decade of limited beef trade with japan we'll finally see these unnecessary barriers revised," says Johanns.
Johanns says this agreement will fully align with international standards.
