Scottsbluff Public Library Adult Reading Program

Posted: Updated:

One public library in KOTA Territory encourages adults to read more books.

The Lied Scottsbluff Public Library begins their annual adult reading program this week.

'Groundbreaking Reads' is this year's theme and it focuses on growing minds... And gardens.

For every three book completed, participants are eligible to win a prize from the library's 'book club garden'.

The plants in the garden are labeled with numbers that correspond to prizes.

Program coordinator, Janna Kehn, says reading is just as important for adults as it is for children.

"Reading is just an avenue to the world," says Kehn.  "You don't have to travel to do it but you can just learn about all kinds of things and go different places without ever leaving your own living room."

The adult reading program last for six weeks and prizes range from new books to a kindle fire.
