Local elementary students celebrate a fundraising effort with puppies.
Forth graders from Longfellow Elementary put together their money to donate to the Panhandle Humane Society.
Executive Director Cathy McDaniel says the money came at a perfect time.
McDaniel says she thought it would be fun to bring six puppies to visit the kids as a reward, because who doesn't love puppies?
"It was a great thing and we gave them a tour but it just didn't feel significant of a thank you to just write a thank you and to them, so we brought six puppies to visit them today and they're loving it," says McDaniel.
McDaniel invites anyone to come into the humane society and see all the pets it has to offer.
