Texas fugitives to make first court appearance this afternoon

Posted: Updated:

An outlaw couple from Texas makers their first appearance in Scotts Bluff County Court Monday afternoon after leading law enforcement on a wild, high speed chase this weekend.

26-year-old Joshua Carver and 21-year-old Alexandria Pryor were driving on Saturday, when a Mitchell officer tried to stop a car bearing Texas plates. The chase reached upward of 100 mph through two Nebraska counties, into eastern Wyoming and back to Nebraska.

Authorities say the two abandoned the car when it had engine trouble and were soon captured after a foot pursuit. A loaded handgun, a military-style rifle, ammunition and several knives were found in the car.

Charges for the duo include fugitive from justice, flight of arrest, possession of a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana and more.

Judge James Worden scheduled an identity hearing for the duo, because both are fugitives from justice. An identity hearing is held to determine if- in -fact these are the people named in the charges. Once identities are confirmed, then they would appear for a preliminary hearing.
