An  Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold is put on an illegal immigrant after a routine traffic stop leads to the apprehension of hard drugs.

On Sunday, Officer Matthew Herbel noticed a red Tahoe speeding on East Overland. The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Joel "Alejandro" Zamarripa did not have a driver's license and told the officer he was in the country illegally.

He was arrested for No Operator's license and providing false information. During a search of his pockets, the officer found a small baggy with a white powdery substance, that tested positive for cocaine.

On Monday in Scotts Bluff County Court, Deputy County Attorney Scott Blaha informed Judge James Worden that an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold was put on Zamarripa. Worden set bond at 10 percent of $70,000.
