A new bill could keep elderly drivers off the roads.
Senator John Harms of Scottsbluff, is pushing a bill that would require drivers over the age of 80 to take a cognitive test to keep their licenses.
Harms says the new tests should be put in place to promote safety.
Brianna Snyder says she's almost been in a couple accidents with her step grandfather because he sometimes forgets to put his blinker on.
Snyder says she thinks the bill is a good idea, just in case older drivers are on any medications.
"That way, the young drivers and their parents won't have to worry about getting into a car wreck because an old person isn't able to see," Snyder said.
"It eliminates the ones that don't have the ability that they used to anymore," driver Clara New said.
The bill would affect 60,000 Nebraskans.
