Man charged with Scottsbluff bank robbery back in court for inmate assault

The man charged with robbing a Scottsbluff bank was back in court to face a new charge.

43 – year – old Michael Scott appeared for a preliminary hearing in Scotts Bluff County Court on Wednesday to face a charge of ‘Assault on a Confined Person'.

Last Wednesday, officers at the detention center say that Scott approached an inmate and assaulted him. Today the state's lone witness was unable to attend the Preliminary Hearing, and Judge James Worden had to reschedule it for a date that is to-be-determined.

Scott is currently being jailed for allegedly robbing Valley Bank and Trust in November, and faces charges of robbery, theft by deception, and possession of methamphetamine from that incident.

He is currently being detained on a $750,000 bond.
