Scottsbluff man sentenced up to 11 years in prison

A man that led area law enforcement on a high speed chase in October, and was later convicted in a major drug bust has been sentenced to up to 11 years in prison.

Shawn Stacey was sentenced this morning in Scotts Bluff County District Court on charges of flight to avoid arrest and intent to distribute . Stacey was sentenced to 12 to 36 months on the first count, and 60 to 96 months on the drug charges.

On October 2nd, Stacey reached speeds of 90 miles per hour during the chase throughout the county.

The suspect totaled his car near the area of County Road 32 and County Road "N"

Police found narcotic on Stacy and believe he may have also tossed drugs from the vehicle during the chase.

Stacey faced the drug charges after a five-month long investigation by the WING-Drug Task Force.
