A panhandle zoo is making sure its animals feel loved on Valentine's Day.
The Riverside Discovery Center is having a Valentine's Day celebration this weekend.
It's the first time the zoo is asking the public to make valentines for the animals.
From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, the crafts will be supplied for valentine makers.
In the past, the zoo keepers have made the valentines and hung them around the zoo.
But Education Director Kim Miedema says she wanted to get the public involved and do something different this year.
"I thought, what better way is to have the public come and show their support for their favorite animal than by designing their own. And so we can have ones of all different looks, and all different kinds hanging around the zoo," Miedema said.
Miedema says she's excited to see what kind of creations people make for the animals.
