The US Postal Service made a big announcement today, Saturday mail delivery will soon be a thing of the past.
The Postal Service says it will stop delivering mail to homes and businesses on Saturdays, though the mail will still be delivered to Post Office boxes.
Post Offices that are now open on Saturdays will remain open and packages will still be delivered on Saturdays.
The move is aimed at saving about 2 billion dollars a year.
Cindy Dickinson, of Gering, says she isn't concerned and realizes cuts have to be made.
"Personally I'm not worried about it. For some businesses it might have an impact I would guess and probably for a lot of people but personally no it won't and I know they have to cut back on their expensive so, you got to do what you got to do," says Dickinson.
The Postal Service says this change won't take effect until August.
