WNCC Aims to Promote Student Leadership

A KOTA Territory college aims to promote student leadership.

The National Society of Student Leadership and Success has a new branch at Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC).

The Society is an organization that encourages leadership and success in students.

The six yearly lectures from nationally renowned speakers are a student favorite.

This year's kick–off speaker was former New York State Mayor, Rudy Giuiliani.

The group's leader at WNCC, Mario Chavez, says he's receiving positive feedback and 145 students have already joined.

Chavez says the group is beneficial for students.

 "Leadership is part of every student's growth here and we felt this was the best way to promote that leadership and grow leaders for tomorrow," says Chavez.

You must be a student at western Nebraska community college to become a member. You can contact WNCC's Cave Center for more information on how to become a member.
