Zoo plans something special for Valentines Day

Posted: Updated:

One KOTA Territory zoo plans something special for Valentines Day.

Valentines Day is going to the dogs... and lions and tigers and chimps at the Riverside Discovery Center.

Zoo patrons are making valentines for the animals.

Four-year-old Justin brings along his favorite animal for inspiration.

The zoo's education animals even stop by for a look at the valentines in progress.

Most of the valentines are for popular animals like lions and zebras... But one little girl remembers the lesser–known animals.

Three–year–old Trinity Martin tells us why she decides to make a valentine for the reeves's muntjack.

"Because he just wanted one," said Trinity.  "He's really really cute."

Valentines can still be made and dropped off at the zoo for display.
