A KOTA Territory University wants to help local farmers

A KOTA Territory University wants to help their local farmers.

Today's Farm and Ranch Expo brought out a few hundred people.

The University of Nebraska Lincoln's Extension Center educators were among them.

The educators spent the day talking with locals about the drought, and what comes next.

The Extension Center is offering lots of meetings and seminars to help.

Jessica Johnson, an ag-educator with the Extension Center says they really just want to get the word out that they're having deficit irrigation meetings.

Johnson says the meetings will work with farmers to come up with irrigation solutions.

"Well Extension is all about knowing how and knowing now," says Johnson.  "So any information that we can provide to the public is exactly why we're here."

Johnson says so far people seem pretty interested and she's happy to help.
