After a unanimous vote by the Gering City Council, it's official: one area attraction will cost more to rent.
Five Rocks Amphitheater will see the hike in price beginning next year.
Prices for a non–profit company will increase from 50 to 250 dollars.
Other businesses will pay over $200 a day to rent the facility.
Before the vote, some council members raised concerns about raising the prices.
"But we're certainly not filling use of it now and if raising the fees only makes it less desirable for people to use it I don't know if that really accomplishes anything," says Larry Gibbs.
Gearing's Parks and Recreation Director Ron Ernst, says the fees are needed to maintain the park.
