And
unfortunately for drivers in KOTA Territory, Nebraska's pump prices are
mirroring the National trend.
Gas prices have risen for 32–days in a row and are likely
to keep rising.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline
in Nebraska is now $3.75.
That's $0.06 higher than the current National average, and an increase of nearly $0.50 from this time last month.
Experts say the prices are rising due to a mixture of
problems, from the cost of crude oil, to production cuts and refinery
closings.
Many people in KOTA Territory say they're unhappy about the
yo-yo-ing prices.
"I would hope it had already peaked and was heading
back down, but doesn't look like it is," says Chris Hasse of Scottsbluff, Nebraska. "I mean, it needs to go back down to where it was at one point. It would sure help a lot."
Gas
prices are expected to peak sometime this spring.
