An outdoor break could help boost your creativity at work

Posted: Updated:

Giving your brain a mid day break may be the key to boosting your creativity.

David Strayer, a Psychology Professor at the University of Utah says the mind is very much influenced by our environment.

Strayer says giving technology a mid day break and disconnecting allows your brain to restore some of its energy.

Scotts Bluff National Monument Park Ranger Leslie Gault says getting out into nature can get your blood flowing and in turn give you energy for your day.

"Getting out in a visual and hopefully cleaner air area than you're used to in your job can just distract you at least, at the very least and get you thinking about things that you usually wouldn't think of," Gault said.

Gault says being physically active also helps your stress levels.
