Lottery winner didn't even want to go to the casino, says wife

The wife of an Alliance man who won more than a million dollars in a KOTA Territory casino says her husband didn't even want to gamble the evening he won.

Gordon "Bud" Thompson became a millionaire with one spin of the slot machine Valentines Day weekend.

But it was his wife, Donna, who convinced her husband to hop on the Ameristar bus to the casino in the first place.

Once every month, for over 15 years, the Thompson's have relied on Ameristar for transportation to the Prairie Wind Casino on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

Ameristar bus attendant, Anita Fees, says although bud was the big winner that night, his wife can take some of the credit.

"Donna came over and told me, she said, yes, and he didn't even want to go today and so she talked him into going and they were pretty excited about it," says fees.

Fees says the Ameristar Transportation regulars are like family and that she couldn't be happier for them.
