Snowstorm doesn't stop commuters - Scottsbluff Area News, Sports, and Weather

Snowstorm doesn't stop commuters

Posted: Updated:

A couple inches of snow didn't stop drivers from starting off their day.

The snow storm was one of the few we've had this season, bringing icy roads with it.

Mark Bohl, Scottsbluff's Public Works Director says today's storm only used a small amount of their chemicals and the snow melted pretty quick.

Bohl says the city has 80 tons of chemicals for the roads, but we've only used about 20 tons so far this winter.

Bud Gillespie drove into town from Broadwater for the 2013 No Till Conference, he says it was worth the commute.

"It was definitely worth the while we had a lot more snow in my area. I went home last night, and came in this morning and we've got about four more inches of snow there, compared to scottsbluff and gering but the roads weren't that bad and it was definitely well worth the effort to get here," Gillespie said.
