Lied Scottsbluff Public Library keeps up with technology

Posted: Updated:

With the rise of technology, a panhandle library makes some changes.

The Lied Scottsbluff Public Library's Director, Abby Yellman says although people are reading less print books, people are reading just as much as ever.

Because so many people have an e-reader, Yellman says the library becomes a virtual hub for use at home.

Part of the technology shift, is offering programs to help people who are making the shift themselves.

Yellman says soon they'll begin offering technology and computer based classes.

"Libraries are very adaptable and I think we need to offer more programs and services, we'll still have overdrive and provide those e-book, e-audios so people can come get them for free instead of having to pay for them."

Yellman says the main goal is to educate people on how to use this evolving technology.
