Cornhusker Economics Outlook meetings in Scottsbluff, Whitney, other locations

Posted: Updated:

Last year was a rough year for farmers and ranchers. And with another dry year expected, it's important to plan ahead.

The 8th Annual Cornhusker Economics Outlook Meeting Series will focus on ag outlook and management decisions for farmers and ranchers.

The meetings will be held at eight locations across the state.

The discussions will cover topics such as crop, livestock, and policy outlook.

Jessica Johnson with the Panhandle Extension Center says the speakers at the conference will help ag producers get a better gauge on how to prepare for this year.

"We're really looking for the opportunity for these specialists or experienced people to come in and talk to producers about where corn stalks are, where our commodities markets are laying, as well as our policies as well as our meat market is looking."

The Scottsbluff meeting is this coming Wednesday, and although there is no cost, pre -registration is encouraged to plan for facilities and materials.

More information and details on the meetings are available on the web at the Department of Agricultural Economics homepage at or directly at the webpage with meeting information at
