A former Nebraska State Senator has died from complications
of brain cancer.
Ardyce Bohlke passed away at Mary Lanning Health Care Center in Hastings on Thursday.
Bohlke served in the Nebraska Senate from 1991
through 2001.
The Democrat also served for 6–years as chair-woman on
the education committee.
During that time, she helped pass legislation that increased
the state's share of school funding from 40 percent to more than 50 percent.
Bohlke was 69–years–old when she passed away.
A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings.
