The average age of a woman giving birth to her fist child
has risen in recent years ... But one KOTA Territory doctor says there are
great benefits to starting a family
early.
While Regional West Doctor Emily McCarty says Panhandle
women are following the same trend ... She says that woman shouldn't ignore what their biological clocks are saying, either.
The longer a woman waits to have children, the harder it
will be for her to become pregnant.
Even with today's medical advances, McCarty says it's
impossible to guarantee that a woman will be equally as fertile in her early
40's as she was in her early 20's.
She also says that women who wait may not be able to have as large of a family as they may have hoped.
McCarty says that the right time to start a family is
different for everyone.
