This weekend, Chadron State College hosted the 24th annual Excellence in Early Childhood Conference.
Early education providers from across the northern region of
the Panhandle gathered for the conference.
Among them was University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension Center Educator, Jackie Guzman.
Guzman taught a training session to more than
50 providers on enhancing emotional literacy.
Guzman gave a similar presentation at Gering's early
childhood development conference in early October, but she says it's
important for the conference to be held in different places to reach more early
education providers.
"It's important to get to them because, early childhood
providers especially, it's difficult for them to get away because they are with
children basically six to six, and those are their hours," says Guzman. "So for them to be able to travel to Scottsbluff is not always realistic."
Guzman will speak at the next early childhood
development conference in Sidney on April 13th.
