Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Department seeing rash of car thefts

Sheriff's Deputies have recently responded to a rash of theft reports from unlocked vehicles. Stolen items include firearms, electronic devices, wallets, credit cards and virtually anything of value.

The majority of the thefts have taken place west and north of the Scottsbluff city limits.

To avoid becoming a victim of this crime, Deputies suggest that citizens lock their vehicles at all times, do not leave valuables inside vehicles, and report any suspicious activity immediately.

Anyone with information on these crimes should contact the Sheriff's Office at 308-436-6667, the communications center at 308-436-6666.
