More criminal charges for convicted former Kimball Councilman

Posted: Updated:

A former Kimball city councilman serving time for the attempted sexual assault of a teenage boy has been charged with theft.

Scott Haun was charged in Scotts Bluff County earlier this month with theft and abuse of a vulnerable adult.

An arrest affidavit says Haun wrote more than $19,000 in checks on the account of a Kimball woman while serving as her conservator and guardian from September 2006 through June last year. An investigator says much of the money was used to pay Haun's personal credit card bills.

Haun is serving 14 to 20 years in prison after pleading no contest to the reduced sex assault charge in April. He was sentenced in June.
