A Nebraska Senator says there are better ways to address our Nation's fiscal problems than with the President's sequester cuts.
Tomorrow a series of budget cuts are set to take effect.
The looming sequestration will automatically trigger 85 billion dollars across the board in spending cuts.
Nebraska Senator Mike Johanns doesn't agree with the president's solution.
Senator Johanns says he supports legislation allowing agencies to make their own decisions on how to trim their budgets.
While the approaching sequestration is of immediate concern, Senator Johanns says the real problem lies in the legacy we're leaving behind for future generations.
"The real threat is the staggering 16 trillion dollars that is growing about one trillion each year that we are going to leave as our legacy," says Johanns.
Johanns adds that the 85 billion dollars in sequester cuts don't come close to fixing our Nation's 16 trillion dollar debt issue.
