A charity organization in KOTA Territory exceeds its fundraising goal.
Organizers with the United Way of Western Nebraska announced today they've exceeded their recent fundraising goal by more than $60,000.
The United Way is a non-profit organization that helps pool efforts in fundraising and support from partnerships with individuals and businesses in the community.
The United Way of Western Nebraska blew it's most recent fundraising goal of $360,000 out of the water.
Volunteers Krista Sarchet and Katie Camacho say the organization has raised more than $420,000.
"This community has always been so supportive," says Sarchet. "I've been lucky enough to be involved in some other non-profits. It's incredible the way they come together, you know, whether it's United Way or another organization."
Agencies looking to receive funding from the United Way of Western Nebraska can apply through their fund allocation process this spring.
Last year's campaign helped fund 20 agencies in the panhandle.
