Authorities have released the name of the man who was killed in a pedestrian/ train fatality in Scottsbluff this morning.

26-year-old Lee Weber of Scottsbluff died of an apparent suicide just east of the Avenue I railroad crossing.

The accident occurred shortly after 8:30 Saturday morning. Reports say that Weber was walking towards the ongoing train as it blared its horns and slammed on the brakes.

This is the 2nd pedestrian/train fatality in the Twin Cities in the past 6 months. In November, a man was killed by a Union Pacific train near the Country Club Road railroad crossing in Gering.
