To some this may look like child's play, but if you dig deeper you'll see it's much more.
"I was 10 years old when I got my first train set from my parents, it was a Christmas present," Cunningham said.
To Jim model railroading isn't just a hobby, it's a passion.
"I like doing the painting, the detailing, the wire and the construction," Cunningham said.
Jim's full spread is in his basement at almost 26 by 27 feet.
"Most of them can't believe the curves that are on the layout and the larger scales, they'd like to have those curves but they don't," Cunningham said.
"I've collected every since I was 18 years old. Anything from $10.00 models to a couple thousand dollars," Cunningham said.
But he's not just a collector and model railroader, Jim actually works in the railroad industry.
"There's people who like to watch trains run and there's people who like to work a railroad," Cunningham said.
Which is why his next project, is a branch line, point to point operated railroad.
"It's a good time for everybody, and it's good clean fun," Cunningham said.
