A City Council in KOTA Territory discusses the reallocation of their KENO funds.
The City of Scottsbluff is discussing the best way to reallocate their KENO funds.
The KENO Legislation clearly defines this fund must be used for providing community betterment.
The City's total revenue from KENO funds each year amounts to between $40,000 and $60,000.
City manager Rick Kuckkahn says, the Parks and Recreation Department has always used this money effectively in the past.
But council member Scott Shaver suggests using the money in other ways, such as by providing tax relief.
"When we have things like the waste water and things that are mandates, unfunded mandates… using something like KENO to off set those would help keep our bills from going up so much," says Council Member Scott Shaver.
Council members will continue their discussing of the reallocation of the city's KENO fund at their next meeting on March 18th.
