Farmers hope for good moisture with this weekends snow storm

Posted: Updated:

The drought has agriculture producers hoping and praying for some much needed moisture.

And they just may get it.

There is a blizzard warning for much of the panhandle, a good thing for farmers and ranchers plagued with dry soil and little precipitation.

Steve Baat farms in Scotts Bluff County, and says that *any* moisture is good moisture at this point.

"Anything we can get is going to help," says Baat. "We haven't had much moisture all winter long, and what we did get seemed to blow off of the fields. Cornfields that we're working on seem to have a little moisture in them, but the open fields, the old bean fields, we had to rough them. They're pretty dry- we need some moisture."

Most of the Panhandle remains in 'exceptional' drought conditions.
