A KOTA Territory 911 communications center is getting some upgrades.
The Scotts Bluff County Communications Center is moving to their new facility next month.
The new center's design is focused on keeping up with technology.
The Communication Center's Director Ray Richards, says the biggest part of the new center is the digital mapping system.
Richards says with the rise of wireless devices like X-Boxes and smart phones, the new system will be able to better track these devices and find out where people are calling from.
Richards says they're doing their best to stay ahead of the curve.
"We're not necessarily ahead of the pack on technology, but we're really not on the back end of this thing at all. We're way above the median and we're going to be in excellent shape for the next seven to ten years," Richards said.
Richards says the new center will especially benefit rural areas that have less cell towers.
