Lt. Governor Heidemann tours Panhandle

Posted: Updated:

Nebraska's second-in-command makes his first official visit to the panhandle.

Newly appointed Lieutenant Governor Lavon Heidemann arrived in Bridgeport this afternoon to tour the community center.

The former state senator says now that he is in a different branch of government, it is taking some time to get a feel for his new role.

He says he wants to act as an extension of the governor... and help meet the needs for Nebraskans.

"It's all about Nebraska," says Heidemann. "We've got a great place here. We've done well over the last 3 or 4 or 5 years. Where a lot of the rest of the country has been struggling, just want to be part of seeing that continue."

The lieutenant governor also spent time in Alliance today, and will be in Sidney tomorrow.
