A zoo in KOTA Territory will soon become home to not one ,but two new animals.
The Riverside Discover Center's 12 - year - old stallion zebra 'Amigo' will soon have two new lady friends.
Five - year old Zia and six - year - old Zelda will be arriving at the zoo next month.
Director Peter Halliday says they are thrilled to have found two zebras because they are high in demand.
Halliday says the zoo has been looking to give Amigo companions for a long time.
"Zebras are herd animals and to have him alone is not a good thing," explains Halliday. "So to bring in two young zebras as companions for him is exciting for us and for him. He doesn't know it yet but he will be excited."
Halliday says there is even a possibility of some striped foals in the near future.
