A group of high school students in KOTA Territory are headed to Lincoln, NE for a state–wide conference and competition.
Junior and senior classes at Scottsbluff High School will be smaller than usual this week...
The school's DECA team is sending 85 members to this year's DECA Career Development Conference.
DECA is a world–wide organization that helps prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in business–related fields.
At the state conference, students will compete individually and on teams in a variety of events, from tests, to role plays.
"I think it's something you can't really simulate in a classroom," says senior DECA member, Matthew Klein. "It's more life–like experiences, at least from a business stand point."
The students left early this morning and will be competing in Lincoln through Saturday.
