A teacher in KOTA Territory who chaperones a yearly trip to Washington D.C. is happy to hear that White House tours might re–open for school groups.
Every Year, Scottsbluff eighth grades are invited on a school trip to our Nation's capital city.
Staff chaperone Mike Fisher says he's thankfully the White House tour isn't on this year's itinerary, but that he feels badly for the students who will be missing out.
Tours of the White House have been called off for the time–being due to sequester cuts.
This news is greatly affecting the many school groups who travel to the Nation's capital each year.
Fisher hopes the tours can be re–instated for school groups because the White House is a very exciting place for students to visit.
"I would like to get a hold of Adrian Smith again and set up another tour in the future," says Fisher. "But until congress gets this thing worked out that's not going to happen."
Fisher says the group is still excited to explore the history our Nation's Capital has to offer.
The group will be leaving for Washington D.C. at the end of May.
