Alliance teen dies in car accident

An Alliance teenager is killed in a car accident on a panhandle highway.

16-year-old Deion Hitchcock was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban on Highway 87 near the Box Butte/ Sheridan County border.

A report from the Nebraska State Patrol says Hitchcock was driving south bound, and lost control of his vehicle. He overcorrected and rolled into an eastbound ditch. The vehicle struck a power pole, and Hitchcock was ejected.

Seatbelts were not in use.

18-year-old passenger Crystal Pannell of Alliance was taken to Box Butte Hospital.
