Some KOTA territory cities may be facing water restrictions if the drought continues.
The city of Gering revised an ordinance last week that could limit consumer use come summertime.
The ordinance lays out three stages of water conservation varying from voluntary reduction to mandatory restrictions.
Gering Public Works Director Pat Heath says the weather is a major
factor on whether or not these restrictions will be enforced.
"If
it comes down to where we're in the same situation in June and July as
we are right now with very little moisture falling, or we're getting
very little moisture, I would almost suspect that we would have at least
a minimum voluntary restriction," Heath said.
Scottsbluff City Manager Rick Kuckkhan says the city of Scottsbluff may also see water restrictions.
