Local bakery sells treats for a good cause, Epilepsy awareness

Posted: Updated:

A panhandle bakery is bringing a new meaning to their treats, Epilepsy awareness.

Cloud 9 CaKery sisters Carianne White and Katie Ernst spent their last Farmers Market of the season making a difference.

The sister's created the Great Purple Cupcake Project as a way to raise money for the cause and spread awareness about Epilepsy.

The cupcakes sold out almost an hour into the Farmers Market and the donations continued.

Epilepsy is a brain disorder that provokes seizures and hits close to home for the sisters.

"Yes our sister actually struggles with epilepsy everyday and she's with us today. We're working with the Anita Kaufman to raise money for them," White said.

According to the Centers for Disease Control Epilepsy affects 2.2 million Americans.
