Something fishy was going on in lakes and ponds across Nebraska today.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is releasing thousands of rainbow trout across the state this month.
Truckloads of the scaly creatures made their new homes in the panhandle today.
The 9 - inch long trout were hatched and raised at the Rock Creek Fish Hatchery.
Clint burrell delivered about 900 fish today to Scottsbluff Zoo pond.
"We stock the lakes and ponds to give people the opportunity to catch trout and other fish that we stock throughout the state," Burrell said.
The Morill sandpits, Bridgeport State Recreation Area, and Terry's Pit in Terrytown have also been stocked.
