The U.S. Department of Agriculture is reaching out to Hispanic and female farmers.
The Service Agency Center in Scottsbluff will host an outreach meeting tonight at the Guadalupe Center from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
The focus will be on the Hispanic and women farmers' claims processes.
Hispanic and women farmers who think they've faced discriminatory practices on behalf of the USDA have to file a claim by March 25th.
John Berge, Deputy Administrator for the Farm Service Agency, says he will speak about the complicated process, answer any questions and talk about who is eligible.
"We have a history at USDA for not being terribly fair to certain people in a socially disadvantaged communities over the course of time, and in this administration we've attempted to address that," Berge said.
All of the U.S.D.A's Service Center Agencies will be at the meeting, explaining the variety of programs they have to offer farmers.
