Rabbits hop through obstacle course at 4-H Expo

Posted: Updated:

The Easter bunny may only hop around once a year, but one panhandle group has their bunnies hopping all year long.

Rabbits were hopping over mounds and under bars to make their way through an obstacle course in Scotts Bluff County yesterday.

It was all part of the rabbit-hopping exhibit at the 4-H Expo.
"They get on harnesses... you can make them and learn how to make them if you come to our rabbit hopping club. But we basically just jump them over hurdles and all the obstacles because it's usually a contest," said 4-H member Morgan Heil.. "But we're trying to make it into a club."

Rabbit hoppers in the club say they like hopping rabbits because they get to make new friends and teach their rabbits new tricks.

Bunny hopper Arika Felkins can second that.

"I like bunny hopping because I can like train my bunny to do different things instead of just walking them and doing all that stuff and its kind of fun, because my rabbits are like, really good at bunny hopping."
