New Kimball Superintendent to be named by the end of the week

Posted: Updated:

The new superintendent for a KOTA Territory school district will be named by the end of this week.

Kimball schools superintendent Troy Unzicker is leaving the district to join Alliance Public Schools.

The school board has identified three candidates to fill his place: Dr. John Weidner of Parshall, N.D., Kelly Glass of Torrington, WY, and Marshall Lewis of Belmond, Iowa.

Kimball School Board President Danielle Reader says the school board will be holding interviews today, tomorrow, and Thursday.

"We should, I'm guessing be able to convene at the completion of Thursdays interview to determine which candidate we'd like to offer the position to. Hopefully we'll be able to do it that evening, if not, Friday morning and know, by the end of this week, we're hoping, who the next superintendent is."

The new superintendent will take over the Kimball School District on July 1.
