Nebraska State Patrol gears up for spring

Posted: Updated:

The Nebraska State Patrol's main focus this spring is seatbelts.

Lieutenant Lance Rogers says with winter behind us, there's more cars on the road and more people traveling.

But farm equipment is also something to watch out for in the warmer months because planting season creates more hazardous traffic.

Rogers says to make sure you're driving safely, and defensively at all times and always wear your seatbelt.

"Also just keep in mind with spring planting season going on, we want to make sure people are being visible for the farmers out there moving around, give them some space," Rogers said.

Rogers says to be cautious when driving around planting vehicles because it takes longer to slow down, and they may not be able to see you as well.
