Bellevue University joins W.N.C.C Scottsbluff Campus

Posted: Updated:

A panhandle community college teams up with an educational institution to assure learning opportunities for throughout western Nebraska.

Western Nebraska Community College is partnering with Bellevue University.

Bellevue University is a four year institution offering bachelor's and post graduate degrees.

Starting in the fall, the university will offer classes on W.N.C.C's Scottsbluff campus.

W.N.C.C's President Todd Holcomb says this will increase the degree opportunities, especially for working adults.

He says Bellevue has a national reputation for helping working adults get an education.

"The fact that W.N.C.C students can stay with us an extra year, and then they are able to transfer into Bellevue and pay the Bellevue rates for one year - but they get the three years of reduced costs at a community college," Holcomb said.

There will be a meeting at the Harms center on Thursday May 2nd at 5:00 p.m. for the public to learn more about the university and partnership.
